Crypto Wallet Tracking: Visibility, Permissions and Bluwhale’s Approach

Understand how wallet visibility differs from authority to act, and how those roles fit Bluwhale’s connected accounts and financial AI agents.

Seeing what a wallet holds and deciding what an agent may do with it are two different parts of a connected financial experience. Bluwhale brings wallet information and AI agents into that experience, with user control and permission boundaries as part of its Individuals offering.

Crypto wallet tracking begins with visibility: balances, transfers and activity associated with an address. A useful financial workflow then gives that activity context. Was a transfer between your own wallets? Does the balance belong to money reserved for a goal? Understanding the difference between observation, connection and authorization helps you explore Bluwhale’s approach with a clear purpose for each step.

What a public address can show

Depending on the network, a public address can be associated with transfers, token balances and interactions with contracts. An explorer presents those records in a readable form, while a tracker may organize them into a history, alert or portfolio view.

An address is not a complete identity record. A person can use several addresses, and some addresses belong to services or contracts. Public activity alone does not establish the human owner, their full financial circumstances or the reason for each transaction.

Ethereum's account documentation distinguishes externally owned accounts from contract accounts and explains how private keys are used to sign transactions. A wallet is the interface used to interact with accounts; it is not the same thing as the public record being observed.

How visibility connects to Bluwhale’s agents

The difference matters even when the experience feels continuous. Viewing a wallet balance helps you understand an asset. An agent strategy introduces a separate question about what actions are authorized. When exploring an available agent, read its actual scope and controls. The four actions below provide the vocabulary for understanding that setup, including when a request simply reveals information and when it can affect assets.

Separate four different actions

Observe an address

You provide a public address or use an explorer to view records. This can support monitoring without authorizing a transfer. A public-address-only workflow does not need your recovery phrase or private key.

Connect a wallet

A connection lets a website interact with your wallet through the permissions granted, commonly including access to selected account addresses and the ability to request further actions. Read the actual connection prompt. Connecting is not the same as approving every future request.

Sign a message or transaction

A signature can serve different purposes. It may authenticate an account, authorize a transaction or grant an off-chain permission that can later affect assets. A request with no immediate network fee is not automatically inconsequential. Check the requesting site, contents and intended effect before signing.

Approve token spending

For tokens that use allowance-based permissions, an approval can authorize a specified spender to use tokens within the allowance. Inspect the spender and amount. Monitoring a balance and granting a spending allowance are separate tasks.

Read labels and privacy settings in context

A tracker may add labels such as exchange, bridge or known contract to help interpret activity. Treat the label as an additional interpretation, and keep the network, address and transaction reference available for checking it.

For a simple example, suppose two addresses exchange a token. The transfer record can show the addresses and amount, but it cannot by itself establish whether the movement was a purchase, a gift or a transfer between the same person's wallets. Extra context determines the interpretation.

Adding an address to a named account can also associate public activity with the information you give the service. Review what the provider stores, how watchlists are shared and what deletion controls are available. Public blockchain data and a service's account-level information have different privacy implications.

Manage connections and approvals separately

If you stop using a connected application, review both the wallet connection and any permissions you previously granted. MetaMask's disconnect guidance explains that disconnecting a dapp does not revoke existing token approvals.

Disconnecting also does not erase public on-chain history. A party that knows an address may still observe its public activity. Use the wallet's current controls and the relevant network's tools when reviewing connections and spending permissions.

Can someone spend my assets just by knowing my public address?

Knowing the address alone does not provide spending authority. Private keys, contract rules and any permissions already granted are separate considerations.

Does a signature always move money immediately?

No. Some signatures authorize other actions or permissions. Review what is being signed, even when no immediate transfer appears.
